2025 Ryder Cup – Format and Scoring
The first two days, Friday and Saturday, feature two sessions of team play with four matches in each session. The formats alternate between Foursomes (alternate shot, one ball per team) and Four-ball (best ball, each player uses their own ball). Eight players from each 12-man team compete each day.
Sunday is reserved for the decisive 12 Singles matches, where every player competes one-on-one. Each match is worth one point, with tied matches resulting in 21 points per side. To win the Cup outright, a team must reach 14.5 points. However, as the defending champion, Team Europe will retain the trophy if the competition ends in a 14−14 tie.
