WWE presented the final episode of NXT before this Saturday’s PLE with significant additions to the upcoming premium live event.
Set to take place this Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia, just hours before WrestleMania Saturday kicks off, NXT: Stand & Deliver 2024 witnessed several developments on this week’s go-home edition:
- The NXT Tag Team Champions have new challengers.
- Ava orchestrated a substantial six-woman tag team match.
- Joe Gacy versus Shawn Spears was added as the kickoff show match.
- Axiom & Nathan Frazer secured their opportunity to challenge Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin for the NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating LWO’s Joaquin Wilde & Cruz Del Toro, as well as Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
Following their victory, Corbin & Breakker confronted their upcoming opponents directly. However, that wasn’t the only match announced. After Ava intervened in Jacy Jayne’s feud with Thea Hail, a six-woman tag team match was arranged for NXT Stand & Deliver. Thea Hail, Fallon Henley, and Kelani Jordan will face off against Jacy Jayne, Kiana James, and Izzi Dame.
The ongoing feud between Joe Gacy and Shawn Spears escalated, resulting in a match being scheduled for Stand & Deliver’s kickoff show. The card will also feature Carmelo Hayes versus Trick Williams as the headline match, despite not being a title bout. The booking decision, heavily influenced by Shawn Michaels, has drawn significant attention from fans.
In the highly anticipated showdown, Ilja Dragunov will clash with Tony D’Angelo for the NXT Title. The build-up for this match has been likened to a tense episode of The Sopranos, filled with ominous dialogue and escalating tension. Oba Femi will defend his North American Title against Josh Briggs and Dijak, putting his title reign to the ultimate test. Roxanne Perez, now a heel, will challenge Lyra Valkyria for the NXT Women’s Title, with both competitors eager to prove themselves in their respective roles.

Trick Williams vs. Carmelo Hayes:
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes will go head-to-head when the former friends collide at NXT Stand & Deliver inside the Wells Fargo Center.
As a team, Trick Melo Gang dominated NXT with Hayes capturing the North American Championship twice and the NXT Championship once, solidifying themselves as the most dominant duo in the locker room.
As Hayes’ star shined bright, Williams started to become a star on his own, causing some jealousy in his partner and culminating in a mysterious beatdown after Williams became the 2023 Iron Survivor.
Williams lost his eventual NXT Title Match against the Superstar that dethroned Hayes, Ilja Dragunov, at Vengeance Day, and a post-match attack from Hayes destroyed their friendship for good.

NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov vs. Tony D’Angelo
Ilja Dragunov will defend the NXT Championship against Tony D’Angelo on the biggest stage NXT has to offer, Stand & Deliver during WrestleMania weekend.
The Mad Dragon was embroiled in a longstanding rivalry with both Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams, but the former friends cost each other the top prize, leaving an opening for The Don to step in and become the No. 1 Contender at NXT Roadblock.
The Family even abducted Dragunov, put him in the trunk of their car, and took him to the bridge, but it was only for D’Angelo to proclaim his admiration for the champion.
With Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo, Adriana Rizzo, and his new consigliere Luca Crusifino by his side, can D’Angelo be the man to dethrone The Mad Dragon?

NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria vs. Roxanne Perez
The NXT Women’s Championship will be on the line when Lyra Valkyria defends her title against Roxanne Perez in what has turned into a bitter rivalry.
The two faced off at Vengeance Day for the title, but they were interrupted by an attempted cash-in from Women’s Breakout Winner Lola Vice, with Valkyria pinning Vice to win the match.
A furious Perez has gone on a rampage, punching several Superstars before finally hospitalizing Valkyria with an injured arm.
Perez followed that up by defeating Valkyria’s friend Tatum Paxley before unleashing another heinous attack on the champion.

NXT North American Champion Oba Femi vs. Dijak vs. Josh Briggs (Triple Threat Match)
Oba Femi will defend the NXT North American Championship against Dijak and Josh Briggs at NXT Stand & Deliver in a Triple Threat Match.
Dijak has long made his intentions of coming for Femi’s title known, even going as far as confronting the champion backstage on several occasions.
Briggs entered the fray after the champion destroyed his former partner Brooks Jensen, forcing Briggs to stand up for his friend.
Dijak and Briggs picked up major wins against Shawn Spears and Duke Hudson, respectively, which allowed Femi to grant both a championship opportunity on NXT’s greatest stage.

NXT Tag Team Champions Bron Breakker & Baron Corbin vs. Axiom & Nathan Frazer
Bron Breakker and Baron Corbin will put the NXT Tag Team Titles on the line when they take on Axiom and Nathan Frazer.
Known as The Wolfdogs, Breakker and Corbin have dominated the competition in their reign as champions, and the only way to crown their No. 1 Contenders was a tournament featuring the best tag teams.
Frazer and Axiom earned the right to challenge for the titles by defeating No Quarter Catch Crew and then by winning the No. 1 Contenders Triple Threat Tag Team Match against The LWO and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.

Thea Hail, Kelani Jordan and Fallon Henley vs. Jacy Jayne, Kiana James and Izzi Dame – Six-Woman Tag Team Match
Thea Hail will team with her new friends Kelani Jordan and Fallon Henley to battle her former friend Jacy Jayne as well as Kiana James and Izzi Dame in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.
Hail and Jayne’s friendship lasted for months as the toxic Superstar helped Hail grow and evolve into what she affectionately called a “grown woman.”
Jayne even saved Chase U from shutting its doors, but the relationship soured when Jayne befriended Jazmyn Nyx and the two began icing Hail out, sending her into the arms of a welcoming Henley and Jordan.
Now, after weeks of physicality in the ring, Hail, Jordan and Henley will take on Jayne and her new allies Jordan and Dame in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match.

Joe Gacy vs. Shawn Spears
Two of NXT’s best will square off when the deranged Joe Gacy takes on the newly returned Shawn Spears at Stand & Deliver.
Both Gacy and Spears were firmly in contention to challenge Oba Femi for the NXT North American Championship, but losses to Josh Briggs and Dijak, respectively, ended those dreams.
Spears’ loss to Dijak featured a surprise appearance from Gacy, who stole the steel chair that was strategically placed in the corner, and Gacy’s loss saw him get hit with the chair by none other than Spears.
NXT General Manager Ava granted Gacy’s request for a match between the two Superstars on the grandest stage NXT has to offer, Stand & Deliver.
